Willard Carroll is a versatile writer, director, and producer whose work includes both live-action and animation productions. His latest feature film MARIGOLD is a musical romantic comedy, shot in India and starring Salman Khan and Ali Larter. He will next direct his original psychological thriller screenplay CRAWL.

Previously, Carroll wrote, produced, and directed the all-star Miramax drama PLAYING BY HEART, with a cast that included Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Phillippe, Dennis Quaid, Gena Rowlands, Jon Stewart, Gillian Anderson, and Anthony Edwards. Before that he directed his adaptation of Philippa Pearce's classic English children's novel TOM'S MIDNIGHT GARDEN starring Greta Scaachi and Joan Plowright. His other directing credits include the horror film THE RUNESTONE and the ABC series BONE CHILLERS. He won an Emmy Award and Humanitas Prize as executive producer of the Showtime movie MY LOUISIANA SKY.

Carroll's animation writing and producing includes Disney's best-selling BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER movie series and the Miramax film THE ADVENTURES OF TOM THUMB & THUMBELINA. He also created, wrote, and produced THE OZ KIDS direct-to-DVD movie series for Paramount and has authored three "Oz"-related books - the result of his having amassed the world's largest collection of "Wizard of Oz" books and memorabilia.

A graduate of the USC School of Cinema and Television, he began his career in the story departments at ABC Motion Pictures, Orion Pictures, and Zoetrope Studios before joining Walt Disney Pictures as a development executive.
