Willard Carroll
Willard Carroll is a versatile writer, director, and producer whose work includes both live-action and animation productions. He is currently in post-production on his original romantic musical-comedy “Marigold,” starring Indian superstar Salman Khan and American actress Ali Larter; shot on location in India.

Previously, Carroll wrote, produced, and directed Miramax’s all-star drama “Playing By Heart,” with Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie, Gena Rowlands, and Dennis Quaid. He also directed his own adaptation of Philippa Pearce’s classic English children’s novel “Tom’s Midnight Garden,” starring Greta Scaachi and Joan Plowright, for HBO and the BBC. His other directing credits include the feature film “The Runestone” and the ABC series “Bone Chillers.”

Carroll’s animation writing and producing includes Disney’s best-selling “Brave Little Toaster” movie series and the Miramax film “The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina.” He also created and wrote “The Oz Kids” TV series and has authored three “Oz”-related books – the result of his owning the world’s largest collection of “Wizard of Oz” books and memorabilia.

A graduate of the USC School of Cinema and Television, he began his career in the story departments at ABC Motion Pictures, Orion Pictures, and Zoetrope Studios, before joining The Walt Disney Studios as a senior creative executive.
